2006 - 2007
I was interested in developing a system of working that allowed for forms to be constructed by intuition while using grids and geometry to work within. Helicopters became an important figurative and symbolic presence. Eventually the abstracted language became too emotionally detached and the hidden symbolism seemed guarded and fearful.

"Logical Halluciantion I with 3 Helicopters", 2007, Acrylic on Canvas
"Helicopter", 2006, Acrylic and Gouache, Ink, and Pencil on Paper, 8" x 11"
Prior to this work I experimented with making three dimensional models from a mix of oil based clay, plasticene, and wood. I tried painting from these models photos of them. Birds entered into the paintings.
